In December 1947, after a devastating house fire that destroyed the hopes and dreams for a local family, a group of men gathered and formed an organization. The purpose of this organization was to provide protection and safety to the residents of Smock.
That organization, today known as the Smock Volunteer Fire Department, consists of thirty dedicated members. Our members continue to make the same commitment our founding fathers made over 59 years ago to the residents and business owners of Smock, Franklin Township and parts of Redstone Township.
